A template motion from Rother District Council
This Council proudly affirms:
- that responsibilities under the Public Sector Equality Duty (s.149 of the Equality Act 2010) to make reasonable adjustments for those with disabilities extend to those who are neurodiverse
- that people who are neurodiverse and the groups that represent them should be considered, consulted and involved in Council decisions where possible, under the principle of ‘no decision about us without us’
- that neurodiversity is covered in any future Equalities, Diversity and Inclusion training and
- it be noted that the [LEADER or COUNCIL] appoint Councillor [NAME] as the Council’s ‘neurodiversity champion’.
