Council Housebuilding Support Service (CHoSS)

The Council Housebuilding Support Service (CHoSS) is a fully funded national improvement programme helping councils strengthen their capacity, capability and confidence to deliver more council homes.

CHoSS forms part of the national effort to deliver 1.5 million homes this Parliament, helping councils build the leadership and capability needed to increase the supply of good-quality, affordable and sustainable homes.

Funded by MHCLG and delivered by the Local Government Association, CHoSS supports all councils in England, whether or not they hold a Housing Revenue Account (HRA).

Every council begins with the CHoSS self-assessment, which identifies strengths, gaps and priority needs.

Depending on your needs, you can access:

• workshops, webinars and communities of practice
• tools, templates and practical resources
• short-term or embedded delivery support.

Our Senior Regional Advisers work directly with councils, coordinating support and connecting you with the right expertise.
